Portugal the Destination

From swimwear designers Lisa Marie Fernandez and Thaddeus O'Neil to accessories label Lizzie Fortunato, the fashion set is flocking to Portugal. Whether it's to the cultural epicenters Porto (known for its art and music scenes, stores such as Rosa et al and beautiful landmarks) and Lisbon or its coastal regions such as Comporta, the European outpost is fast becoming the new It-destination.

Amidst the influx of fashion folk is a wave of new, five star hotels opening across the country.

Monse Travel Guide

Living in New York is akin to living in a dream—anything can happen, and quite frequently does. There's also one thing that almost everyone in New York agrees upon: sometimes you have to leave the city in order to best enjoy it.

As such, there are plenty of places to go and plenty of people with wonderful suggestions. Two of those are Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, the designers behind Monse, a two-season year old label with a penchant for creating clothes that can easily transition from wandering a market to an evening out. Here, they share their summer guides to jet setting the globe.

Sofia Sanchez de Betak x Globetrotters luggage collaboration

Style star Sofia Sanchez’s Instagram reads like a glamorous travel diary—she  always seems to be visiting some exotic locale. As such, she knows a thing or two about luggage (what to pack, which kind to buy, etc). Now, she’s teamed up with Globe Trotters—of which she is designer and creative director—on a four-piece luggage collection that features sturdy yet chic suitcases with hand drawn illustrations of four different places around the Greek Isles. Each suitcase features a different destination through the lens of The Luxury Collection’s indigenous hotels and resorts including Santa Marina in Mykonos; The Romanos in Costa Navarino; Hotel Grande Bretagne in Athens; and Vedema and Mystique in Santorini. “For me, traveling is a treasure hunt—I love exploring new places and creating my own memorable experiences, so for the design of this luggage collection, I wanted to create a scavenger hunt map inspired by my trip to Greece for other explorers to follow,” said de Betak. “The Luxury Collection concierges helped me explore the magnificent country and I received tips from locals and experts along the way, so I placed these ‘must sees’ on my maps for others to find!”

Exclusively offered at Globe-Trotter’s flagship boutique in London and at www.globe-trotter.com
