It’s not enough for homewares to be merely practical. Instead, they should be a marriage of form and function; sculpture as well as dish. ARC objects, a homewares and accessories line created by Daniela Jacobs, excels at both. Born in New York and raised between the city and Mallorca, Spain, Jacobs is inspired by contrasts and dualities. She took her first pottery class when she was six, although it wasn’t until her study at Parsons School of Design that she learned the small-scale industrial production and hand-craft techniques she uses now for her ARC objects studio practice. Inspired by geometric forms and textures found in nature, each piece is created to mirror the organic curves of other pieces in the line (which ranges from dishes to bowls to cups). ARC pieces are intentionally "seasonless," bold in simplicity, and made by hand in New York City.
